Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks his first trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.
The win also means he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.
He came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the last five games to take the lead.
The pair traded break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
